AS A JUNIOR (2013)
Cal State Fullerton’s center fielder and closer…accolades included: ABCA/Rawlings All-American (first team), ABCA/Rawlings West Region (first team), Baseball America All-American (first team), Louisville Slugger All-American (first team), NCBWA All-American (first team), Fullerton All-Regional Team, Big West Conference First Team, John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Finalist, NCBWA Stopper of the Year Finalist, Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist and NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist…on the hill, totaled 35 saves in just two seasons, breaking the all-time Fullerton record… 19 saves in 2013 ranked fifth in the country and second in Fullerton single-season history…from May 1, 2012-April 9, 2013 recorded 16 consecutive saves…in 22 appearances in 2013, tossed 22 and 2/3 innings, striking out 20 and managing a 1.99 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .205 clip…was 19-for-22 in save attempts, but in the three blown saves kept the Titans within reach for the win, completing the season with a 3-0 record on the mound…at the plate batted .335 with a Big West-leading 54 RBIs while managing a .515 slugging percentage, 40 runs scored, 76 hits, 12 doubles, four triples and a team-leading seven home runs…recorded 21 multiple-hit games and 12 multiple-RBI games…drove in the game-winning run on a team-leading eight occasions: a three-run homer vs. Oregon (03/02), a solo round tripper at Long Beach State (03/22), a sacrifice fly at Long Beach State (03/23), a first-inning grand slam vs. Pacific (03/30), a three-run homer at UC Davis (04/07), a one-run homer vs. USC (04/09), a sacrifice fly at Pepperdine (04/16) and a two-run single vs. Arizona State (06/02)...batted 3-for-3 and drove in three runs at USC (03/06)…batted 3-for-4 and drove in three runs in win vs. Nebraska (03/19)…batted 4-for-5, drove in three runs and stole two bases in win at UCLA (04/02)…hit 3-for-4 in series-clinching win at Hawai’i (04/28).

SUMMER 2012
Became second Titan (SS Christian Colon) to play a second season on the U.S. Collegiate National team • Played in 14 of team’s 17-game schedule, batting .171 (6-for-35) with two stolen bases while pitching 2 and 2/3 innings in three appearances with a 1-1 record, a save and a 0.00 ERA • Walked four and struck out one • Team went 2-3 in Cuba and 6-2 to take the Bronze medal at the Honkbal-Haarlem Baseball Week in Haarlem, Netherlands, competing against the host team plus Japan, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Chinese Taipei • Tour began with exhibition games in North Carolina.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2012)
Michael Lorenzen had no sophomore jinx as he took to the mound and developed into one of the nation’s top two-way players • Started all 57 games in center field and finished the game in all 20 pitching appearances, not allowing a run in 18 of them • First-team All-American as a utility player by Collegiate Baseball • Earned third-team All-American honors as utility player from NCBWA • Won double first-team All-Big West Conference honors as an outfielder on offense and closer on the pitching staff • His 16 saves in 17 chances tied him for second with Nick Ramirez (2011) behind only Scott Wright’s school record of 22 saves in 1984 • Posted a 2-0 record with a 1.23 ERA • Pitched 22 innings • Struck out 17 and walked only five • Opponents batted only .205 against him • His only blown save resulted in his second victory when he pitched a scoreless tenth inning after a two-run ninth and the Titans tied the game in the ninth and beat Cal Poly in the tenth, 5-4, on Apr. 22 • His other win came in his previous outing, a scoreless 1 and 1/3 inning pitched as the Titans rallied in the eighth to beat Pepperdine, 8-6, on Apr. 17 • Went 0-for-3 in season finale to fall under .300 for the first time and finish with a .297 batting average, third on the team • Led squad with 38 runs, 20 doubles, 101 total bases, .435 slugging percentage, 69 hits (tie), three triples (tie), 43 RBI, 10 multiple-RBI games and 14 stolen bases (9 of them came in first 11 games) • Best hitting streak of season was an 11-gamer (March 18-Apr. 5, 18-for-45, .400) • Best game was a 4-for-5 effort vs. TCU with a double, two runs and three RBIs in an 11-10 win on Feb. 26 • Had three-or-more hits eight times • Had three RBIs three times.

SUMMER 2011
Batted .317 with a home run and 10 RBIs in 14 games for Team USA under Head Coach Tim Jamieson (Missouri) • The Collegiate National Team finished 11-2-1 in the summer including 4-0-1 against Japan in five consecutive games in North Carolina and then in Omaha, Neb. • Lorenzen doubled and walked in three plate appearances in Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park and was the first Titan to play in the new home of the College World Series.

AS A FRESHMAN (2011)
Big West Conference Freshman of the Year and second-team All-BWC pick • Earned freshman All-American honors by Collegiate Baseball • Was named a second-team ABCA All-West Region honoree • At .3425 led team in batting (Carlos Lopez hit .3417) • Made several outstanding defensive plays • Appeared in 49 games, 40 as a starter including all of them after Mar. 12 except for the seven games he missed (Apr. 21-May 1) with a wrist injury suffered while attempting a diving catch • In Big West play batted .373 • With five stolen bases in five attempts on last weekend of regular season (May 27-29) at Cal State Northridge, he tied Ivory Thomas for team lead with 19 (in 26 attempts) but ended up second to Thomas’ 20 • Also stole show on Apr. 10 vs. UC Irvine with a go-ahead three-run triple and later made two diving catches for the ESPNU audience • Ended the game on Apr. 16 vs. UCSB by throwing out a runner trying to score the tying run from second base on a single to right field • Took a seven-game hitting streak into the final series at Cal State Northridge (16-for-27, scoring at least once in each game) • Hitless in opener but scored in all 3 games to run string to 10 games in a row, 11 after Regional opener vs. Illinois but snapped in shutout loss to Stanford • Had an on-base percentage of .535 when leading off an inning • 2-for-4 as a pinch-hitter.

HIGH SCHOOL
Was a four-year letterman for Head Coaches Joe Secoda and Marc Price • Was a high school teammate of current Titan teammate Greg Velazquez • Was a four-time All-Freeway League First Team honoree and a representative on the All-CIF Southern Section teams in three of his four varsity seasons • As a freshman, batted .463 with six doubles and 11 RBIs and compiled a 20-game hitting streak to earn the Silver Slugger Award • Was named the Indians’ MVP as a sophomore after hitting .391 with 11 doubles and 16 RBIs • As a junior earned the Silver Slugger Award after hitting .451 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs; Also tallied 15 doubles and 20 stolen bases en route to being named to the all-county second team • As a senior in 2010, hit .455 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs; Was named to the all-county and all-state teams in addition to being named the Freeway League MVP • Was a Scholar Athlete for three seasons • Was drafted in the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 7th Round.
